Guy & the Graphics – Solo! at Sound Departures

Composer/electronicist Guy Barash’s project, Guy & the Graphics, is dedicated to the unusual practice of interpreting graphic scores, and in this incarnation will be performed as a solo set by Barash himself. It explores strange, rare, and often overlooked repertoire by 20th century masters as well as new musical works represented through the use of graphic symbols outside the realm of traditional music notation, including video score by Ronen Shai and Lorna Mills. This installment of Guy & the Graphics invites audience participation. You are encouraged to bring small instruments, toys and other noise-making devices and jam along to Earle Brown‘s iconic December 1952.
